Winter Time Table Runner

Create a one-of-a-kind winter or Christmas table runner in this 2-session class that features log-cabin style construction and ruler work quilting.  No pattern is required to create this elegant yet simple to make accessory.  The first class will be devoted to construction, pre-planning ruler work and putting the table runner in batt; and, the second class will consist of achieving your final quilting design, quilting, and binding the table runner. Jenni will also demo how to use the Accuquilt cutter.  Class 1 - construction, begin preplanning your quilting design and put table runner in batt.  Class 2 - 15 minute quilting warm up, final decision on your quilting design, working the quilting design and binding the table runner.


 1-10 1/2" square of fabric, light or medium solid or tone on tone
 8 - 2 1/2" squares of same fabric as 10 1/2" square or different fabric that is light/medium fabric
16 - 2 1/2" x 11" of coordinating fabric (1 or 2 color families, i.e. Christmas choices might be 8 red & 8 green)
18" x 42" piece for backing
*Bring your Accuquilt cutter and 2 1/2" strip die to easily cut out these pieces or your regular mat and rotary cutter 
     If you don't have one of these, feel free to use the shop Accuquilt cutter to cut out your pieces during class, I will demo.

Sewing machine and regular sewing notions to include 6" x 24" ruler, threads for sewing and quilting, tweezers, sewing machine needle, quilting needle and top-stitch needle and Teflon or Easy Glide sheet.
1 - 12" square piece of paper or freezer paper (for auditioning your quilting)
Spray baste, quilting gloves
Frixion pen (MUST HAVE, but try out on a scrap of your fabric @ home to make sure the ironed off line disappears completely) and white or grey chalk for marking your dark fabrics

Westalee spacing guide, stitching line discs, ruler foot, various rulers - circles (1 1/2" opening to fit 2 1/2" squares), ovals, straight, and linear curve; the Westalee beginning set that includes the spin e flex ruler can be used or the Westalee circles on quilts ruler set 1 can also be used on the center square.  I will bring some of my rulers to supplement the rulers you have or might like to purchase for class.

FOR FREE-MOTION WORK:  Free-motion foot, if you decide to supplement your ruler work.

Wind a bobbin and come with fabrics pressed and spend some time practicing quilting with your rulers
