Jelly Roll Rug Class
Make a beautiful area rug with Jelly Roll strips and batting that can be used anywhere in your home. This technique is sew much fun and easy with results that are impressive. Great for personal use or for gifts for friends and family.
Jelly Rolls are cute, coordinating, round, fabric "treats" consisting of 40-42 2 1/2" x 42" strips of a particular designer's fabric line.
1 Jelly Roll will make a 30" x 44" oval rug.
*Please bring your lunch for a break in the class.*
SUPPLY LIST:
- 1 Jelly-Roll (40-42 strips) or precut 40-42 coordinating strips of fabrics 2 1/2" x 42"
- 1 2 1/2"x 50-yard package of Bosal Katahdin On-A-Roll
- 1 Jelly Roll Tube Maker
- Size 12, 14 & 16 Jeans Sewing Machine Needles
- 1 Large spool of thread; at least 1200 yards to blend or contrast your fabrics
- Pre-wind 4-5 bobbins with thread prior to class
- Mary Ellen's Best Press Spray
- Sewing machine (in good working order and knowledge on how to use it) with at least a 5mm wide zig-zag
- Extension table for sewing machine
- All usual sewing supplies including scissors, seam ripper, etc….
This is a two part class. The first session (1/15) is for sewing your strips together from 10:00am-2:00pm. The second session (1/22) is all day, from 10:00am-4:00pm.
