Do you have a Baby Lock Sashiko machine? Are you thinking about getting a Sashiko machine? If the answer is “YES!” to either of these questions then this Diva Day is for you. We will be constructing a Spring-themed wall hanging using just our Sassy machines. Learn to piece, quilt, applique and use trims and yarns to decoratively embellish your project with this unique Sashiko stitch. We will have a limited number of machines to use for those of you thinking about adding a Sashiko machine to your sewing room. This is a great project to get ready for Spring!
Supply List
Fabric – 5 Strips in various shades of green – pre-cut to 2 ½” x 18”
9 Strips in various shades of blue – pre-cut to 2 ½” x 18”
6” x 6” square of yellow for flower
4” x 4” square of pink for flower center
4” x 4” square of green for leaves
2 strips of brown pre-cut to ½” x 18” for flower stems
20” x 26” of fabric for backing (edges will be wrapped to front for
binding)
18” x 24” piece of lightweight batting
Thread – 4 spools of cotton threads, 30wt or lighter, in blue, green, yellow and
black*
1 skein variegated green pearl cotton**
1 skein dark pink pearl cotton**
2 skeins variegated pink embroidery floss**
Washable or air-erase fabric marker
1 sheet 9” x 12” Steam-A-Seam for appliques*
Sashiko machine with 4 empty Class 15 bobbins*
Small scissors to cut out appliques*
Small awl*, knitting needle or chopstick to help control yarn while flip-stitching
I will provide fussy-cut ladybugs and black marker for their antennae as well as patterns for appliques
