You'll need a variety of orange fat quarters for this project. And won't it be fun to trade squares with other class participants?
Materials: - ½ yard background fabric – something neutral with a minimal print - Scraps of orange fabric. Fat Quarters work well for this project. Bring as many as you have to class and be prepared to share and exchange with other participants. Ideally, the project works well with 20 different orange squares. - 1 Fat Quarter or scraps of green for the leaves - 1 Fat Quarter of scraps of tan or brown for the stem - ¾ yard for backing - ½ yard for binding. If you want your project to pop, use orange for the binding.

A copy will be given to you during class. - Sewing machine in good working order - ¼” foot - Neutral thread and wound bobbin - Cutting mat - Rotary Cutter with sharp blade - Ruler - Scissors - Quilter’s Pins - Seam ripper (affectionately known as Jack) - Small iron and pressing mat – if you have one
