Pillow Talk!

Throughout the year we will be making several seasonal and decorative pillow covers. Each pillow cover will fit an 18 inch pillow insert. These pillows can be removed and stored flat, so the next cover you make goes on the original pillow insert. 

SUPPLIES: 
Any supplies you need and purchase at All Brands, you can use your class discount (15%) towards your purchase. 

Pattern: Petal Pop Santa

Pillow Cover: (front/back)
18 inch square front of pillow (1)
18x12 rectangle (2)

Scraps: applique pieces - it is best to back all pieces with SF101
hat (10x10)
face (8x4)
nose (4x4)
eyes (3x6)
hat brim and pom pom (11x8) 

Hair and beard: 
3/4 yds of white or 5 fat quarters (white can have a pattern on it)

PREPARATION BEFORE CLASS:
If you wish to walk out of class with a finished project, do the following before coming to class
APPLIQUE PIECES
1) back all applique fabric with SF101 - this helps when you stitch applique pieces down
2) trace all applique patterns on to steam-a-seam or heat & bond lite
3) fuse all color fabric for each applique to the heat & bond or steam-a-seam (after you drew the pattern)
4) cut out applique pieces 1/4 inch outside the lines you have drawn (****DO NOT CUT THE NOSE! WE WILL DO THAT IN CLASS!***)

WHITE FABRIC
1) cut 3 strips 6.5 inches by width of fabric
***if you bring fat quarters do not cut the fabric

EXTRA SUPPLIES:
sewing machine
thread to match applique pieces plus white
straight pins
rotary cutter (and small cutting mat)
iron and pressing mat (this will help in sharing so you won't have to wait when ironing applique pieces)
