Classic T-Shirt: Fitting & Serging
Making garments means you get the fit you want. Using a serger means less time making, and more time wearing!
This is a two day class.
Day one: You will take measurements, identify fitting issues, and make changes to the pattern. If time allows, you will cut out the pattern on your fabric.
Day two: You will complete cutting out the fabric, if needed. You will get tips on serging a T-Shirt and then make it yourself!
This pattern (Butterick's B6848 Classic T-Shirt pattern by Palmer & Pletsch) is NOT available in local stores. You will get and pay for the pattern in the first class. The supply list will be emailed to you after you register. The pattern is a fitted, shaped T-Shirt that features sleeveless, short, 3/4, and long sleeves. Chose the length you prefer. You will make the boat neck variation of the t-shirt in class.
Great class for those new to fitting or serging, or those looking to learn garment making. Participants must bring their own serger for day two.
Pre-requisites: Serger in good working order. It is required that participants know how to thread their sergers and are able to serge a 4 thread overlock seam. Threading and the basics of serger sewing will not be taught in this class.
*If you are thinking about signing up for this class, please do so by 9/30/24. The class will be closed after that point*.
