Make Your Own Pillow!

• Showcase your favorite block as a pillow – quilt block or embroidery design

SUPPLIES
1. Pillow Form – 16” square. Available at All Brands Sewing Center - included with the class!

2. Pillow Front Fabric - Your favorite block – 14 - 16” plus borders
• Add borders to make the block at least 17” square (must
be 1” wider and 1” longer than the pillow form)
• If you’re unsure about this, bring border fabric (1/4 yard) and add the borders in class.

3. Pillow Back Fabric - You can use any fabrics.
• Quilting cotton, upholstery fabric, flannel, canvas, denim, fleece, etc. The back does not
have to match the front. Creative imagination is good! Caution: avoid fabrics that fray easily.
• Cut: 17” x 20” (1” wider and 4” longer than the pillow form size)

4. Zipper – 18-24” standard zipper, not metal (must be 2-4” longer than the width of the pillow form)
5. Fringe or cording (optional) – 2 yards ( 2x [length+width] plus 5” overlap)
• If cording, make sure cord/piping has ‘lip” or edge for sewing it in the seam
• If you want to make cording, bring cotton cord (available at All Brands) (about 1⁄4” diameter) and fabric (1/2 -1 yard)

BOOK PILLOW OPTION (no blocks used for this one)
• Pillow Form- 16” x 16” - included with class!
• Pillow Front Fabric – 17” x 17”
• Book pocket Fabric (goes on front) – 17 x 20”
• Pillow Back Fabric – 17” x 20”
• Fringe or cording (optional – see above)
