We LOVE Canvas!

There are so many great looking canvas fabrics! If you have ever wondered how to sew with it, this is the class for you. Choose ONE of the listed patterns. Jackie will help you sew the garment or bag of YOUR choice!

*Please bring your lunch for a break in the class.*

Patterns to choose from (available at All Brands (15% off with class discount) - just let us know in plenty of time which pattern you want):

Jacket - spring, unlined - most complex choices.
- Tamarack - not quilted, unlined, a bit more fitted, no collar, shorter
- Ilford - very roomy, optional buttons, has collar

Sonya Phillips - easiest choices. For all her patterns, measure your bust/hip and check the finished garment measurements (in pattern) for sizing. 
- Dress No. 1
- Skirt No. 1
- Pants No. 1
- Top - Dress No. 1 (shortened, tank style) or Top No. 1 (cap sleeves)

Bags by Noodlehead - medium complexity.
- Redwood Tote
- Trail Tote 

Supply List:
Necessary 
1. Pattern (choose from above)
2. canvas fabric - AVAILABLE AT ALL BRANDS! 15% off with class discount!
- see patterns for size and yardage. Call Jackie for questions!
3. Bias tape 
- purchase single fold bias tape OR prepare in class for dress, top
4. sewing machine in good working order and knowledge on how to use it
- thread (100% polyester) & bobbins
- new needle (microtex/sharp 90/14)
- manual if you have it
5. basic sewing notions 
- rotary cutter, pins, scissors, seam ripper, frixion heat erasable pen, seam gauge, measuring tape, etc
Optional but nice to have
- thread snips
- ByAnnie's stiletto 

BEFORE CLASS
For garments *only* - PREWASH and press (if it needs it)
Do NOT prewash if making a bag
Make sure your sewing machine is working and you know how to use it - bring it threaded and with a new needle inserted 
READ through your pattern & get familiar! Even if it seems unclear, it will help when we start sewing!
IF comfortable:
- make a pattern tracing copy, try to avoid cutting your original pattern
- cut out pattern pieces, call for ANY questions!
