Intro to Quilting



You will practice sew many techniques making this Dresden Plate table topper or 14" pillow cover!

Techniques taught and used:
1/4" piecing
sewing curves
decorative stitching
quilting 
top stitching
stitch-in-the-ditch
envelope closure

Supply list:
sewing machine in good working order and knowledge on how to use it
walking foot
1/4" foot
microtex/sharp or quilting needles - 80/12 for piecing, 90/14 for quilting
threads for piecing and background quilting
long ruler (24") if you have one
marking pen that vanishes over time or with heat (Frixion work well!)
fabrics - 
1/2yd background fabric
1/4yd or fat quarter of 4 fabrics for fan blades
1/4yd or fat quarter for center circle
3/4yd for border and backing
18"x18" square piece of batting

Before class:
Have your fabrics pressed with Magic Spray and ready for class. We will cut out the shapes with the Accuquilt GO! Cutter
