NECESSARY:
1. Pattern: Sweet Pea Sling Bag
2. Fabric: do not use dimensions on the pattern!
- 2/3 yard EACH (the pattern directions are a bit short)
o exterior
o accent (for bias too)
o lining
- Cork ~12x8”
Hardware (for Bag):
- one – 3/8” lobster claw (swivel hook) for interior keys
- one – 1” triangle ring
- two – 1” D ring
Hardware (for Strap):
Width of strap is your choice
- two – 1” (or 1.5 or 2”) swivel hooks for strap
- one – 1” (or 1.5 or 2”) slide adjuster
Strapping: (cotton is the softest)
- 55” of 1” (or 1.5 or 2”)
Foam – 20 x 20”
Web Strap
- 1” for D ring holders (can be cork or web)
- ~55” long x 1” (or 1.5 or 2”)
MATCH your desired strap width to your hardware size!!!

3. Optional: Rivets small for accent at back diagonal pocket
4. Sewing Machine in good working order and knowledge on how to use it (threaded, new Microtex 90 needle), 2 bobbins, manual.
          - Walking foot. Optional – serger.
5. Thread 100% Polyester, color of choice
6. Needles - Microtex 90 NEW
7. Basic sewing stuff: rotary cutter (45 or 60mm), scissors, seam ripper (new), pins (sharp), clips, Frixion
heat erasable pen, seam gauge, etc.

OPTIONAL nice to have: Thread snips, Annie’s Stiletto – I love this tool!

Stephanie will email you the cutting tab sheets once you sign up for class. Use these for proper dimensions!!
I made the class example a bit wider…cause I haul a lot of stuff!
READ through your pattern, get familiar
- Do NOT wash fabric
Determine your desired depth of your strap,
Create Quilt Sandwich – 20 x 20” with exterior fabric and foam. Can be pieced and quilted as you desire!

IN CLASS:
Day 1: cut out all pieces and create strap
Day 2: zippers, pockets, assemble, binding/overcasting
